The trick of never lookin back

The trick of never lookin back

Written by:

is in the eyes. You don’t stare. You don’t see. You just get the hell outta there and walk away from what used to be.

You make love. You shed a few tears. You move on.

You know that some mistakes repeat themselves and make peace with that.

And sometimes, maybe, just sometimes, you learn & you grow.

The old wine in the new bottle trick ceases to amaze you. You don’t fight the same ole battles anymore. You relish the thought of being alone.

And then one day, the love-bolt from the blue strikes again. The circle starts anew.

I write. I take photographs. Sometimes I do both. Love travelling and meeting new people. Makes life more exciting.

Wonderful. I especially love your first line.

    Short. Crisp. Wonderful.
I’m curious what follows after this. There are so many options to explore for a story to move forward after this. The protagonist could turn vengeful, indifferent; start afresh or just end her life.

I like how it says so much without any effort to make it grand or overkill. These are just bare thoughts that would run through ones mind.

Wonderful, Kits. I really loved the stark simplicity of the words, the curving journey, and the rueful, hopeful beginning. Very much enjoyed this one.

this seems to fall somewhere between a story and a poem. i love that. and i agree that it’s wonderful. crisp, like aniket said, and very, very real. there’s a piece of all of us in this, i think.
