I am Mantha

I am Mantha

Written by:

(Note from FlashFiction: The following story is not on the current prompt, but is the first story ever of our newest member of the gang. So show some love ;) )

Hi, I am Mantha.
My family – Philip my husband, and Sarah Kristopher my two kids.

My husband is a happy man.
I am not.
I am unhappy and a woman.

I can’t interact with my kids , forget the outside world.

I miss going out with them and making love to Philip.

My husband has married a lady named Carol.

She has got all my rights , my children, my bedroom while I am suppose to stay in this old dark room.

These thoughts always ran over Mantha’s mind every single day!
She sat by the window, her only connection with the outer world.

“Oh! Why has the crowd gathered near the garden?”
“Oh! They are dressed in black. It’s a funeral!”
“My children!”

Mantha ran.No door could limit her and she reached the garden to find her Philip with Carol, Carol with children …
on her funeral!

Not bad at all for the first write-up. I remember mine sucked in epic proportions when I started off. :)
As you know, I did have questions, but now you’ve answered them satisfactorily – I love the twist you came up with. Multiple POVs is always a tricky thing to pull off. I’m sure you’ll master it in time.

I’m glad you chose this platform to try out writing fiction. We can never have enough writers in this world (in my opinion). Thank you for posting here. Hope you enjoy your stay.

    Thank You.
In my personal blog I had to write the answer to the obvious doubt readers get :)

Fun take on the prompt. I liked the twist at the end. Flash fiction should be a place to play and get creative, and I think you’ve done that. Good job.
