Apocalypse

Apocalypse

Written by:

Not long ago they sat and drank

The poison of their dreams.

Not long ago they ate it up

As bread with milk and cream.

Not long since the world had ended

All torn and split and burned.

Not long ago the Gods abandoned

The dead in their graves turned.

Not long, the Son of God he came

To wash the Sins of Man.

Not long since the Man he tried

To do all that he can.

But that was that and now they sat

The Masters and the Lords.

Drinks did rounds and toasts were made

To The World and its New Gods.

Morbid and Insane. Need you know more?

Welcome back from the hiatus! You’ve come back in style. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind at all if this world has a new god. Not too fond of the current panel. ;)

Wow… deep. Past, present and future all compressed to a singularity. I feel ya, man

great, heady stuff – love the title against the content of the poem – always seems a “World and its New Gods” rise out of the ashes of whatever we burn down. awesome!

@ Abhijeet: So you have indeed! Thank you. :)

@ Aniket: Whatever makes you think the new ones would be any different? Blessed hope, eh? ;-)

@ THREE: I think that alias is pretty rad! Glad you could connect. :)

@Joaquin: I suppose this (my poem) is an optimist’s hope, perhaps. That there WOULD be something even after everything else dies or fizzles out. It’s exactly like the hope for (and believe in) an afterlife, be it in heaven or hell. What certainly scares me is what if this is it? What if, there IS nothing after? Eep! Gives me creeps!
