Eww

“No, not this one. Nick’s present goes first and Jenny’s on top of it. The skateboard is bigger.”
He snatched the wrapped box from her hands. “I’ve got it.”
“Are you going to be this cranky over Christmas?” She complained, “The kids would be up any minute.”
“I get the gifts. I get the shopping. I get sending cards to relatives I don’t recall names of, all in the name of Christmas spirit. What I don’t get is why do I have to dress up in this silly costume?”
“Because its Christmas! And the kids need Santa! Who else its going to be?”
“Why don’t you try the outfit?”
“They’ll know its me, when they hear my voice. Santa is supposed to be a guy, you know”
“A guy does not dress in all reds. Besides, Jenny is 12. I’m sure she knows Santa isn’t real by now.”
“May be she does. May be she doesn’t. As long as she pretends not to know, you’ll have to be Santa. So get over it.”
“This sucks.”
“Tell you what, do this for me. I’ll make it up to you for this tonight. Promise.” She tugged down the white beard and planted him a kiss.

“Jenny! Wake-up! Wayke up!”
“What is it, Nick?”
“You won’t believe what I just saw?”
“Let me guess. Santa is downstairs?” She put a pillow over her head and said in a muffled voice, “You go ahead and unwrap your gift. I’ll be down in five minutes.”
“I didn’t just see Santa. I saw Mom kissing Santa. Ewww…. We gotta tell Dad!”
Jenny chuckled under the pillow and got up. “Easy there Nick. Its okay. Dad knows.”
“He knows! Eww.”
“Its okay, he’s just Mom’s very good friend. Everybody kisses Santa. Go get your gift.”
Nick strolled towards the stairs. “If he’s such a good friend of Mom’s, I should’ve asked for a better gift.”
