Fury Of the Phoenix – Results

Written by:

Thank you all who participated, commented and helped spreading the word for Cindy Pon’s new book Fury Of The Phoenix.

Cindy has picked Beautiful Jade by BandE and  Banished by Margaret as winners. Congratulations!!!!

Please mail your snail-mail address to aniket[at]flashfiction.in and I’ll send you your copies of Silver Phoenix at the earliest. I hope you’ll love Silver Phoenix as much as I did.

Cindy really liked all the entries and had real fun judging it. Seriously, I’m not making this up. You can ask her at CindyPon.com. She loves feedback.

I had just met Cindy when her first novel ‘Silver Phoenix’  came out. She was super nice to have given a personalized book mark when I bought the book. She’s always super-nice btw, a rare trait these days!

Silver Phoenix is not your traditional fantasy novel with a teenage kid burdened to save the world. It has a female protagonist for starters. And is rich in cultural references. I especially like how Cindy takes the little things like describing each meal of the day and weave it into the plot. I wont give any more spoilers.

Go buy your copy if you haven’t already. So that you can catch up with its sequel ‘Fury Of The Phoenix’ when it releases on 3/29/11.

Here’s a short blurb from ‘Fury of the Phoenix’ to tease you about what’s in store:

The Gods have abandoned Ai Ling.
Her mysterious power haunts her day and night, and she leaves home—with just the moon as her guide—overwhelmed by her memories and visions and an unbearable sense of dread. For Ai Ling knows that Chen Yong is vulnerable to corrupt enchantments from the under-world. How can she do nothing when she has the skill and power to fight at his side? A dream has told her where he is, the name of the ship he is traveling on, his destination. So she steals off and stows away on board.
The ocean voyage brings with it brutal danger, haunting revelations, and new friendships, but also the premonition of a very real and terrifying threat. Zhong Ye—the powerful sorcerer whom Ai Ling believed she had vanquished in the Palace of Fragrant Dreams—is trapped in Hell, neither alive nor dead. Can he reach from beyond the grave to reunite with Silver Phoenix and destroy Chen Yong? And destroy whatever chance Ai Ling has at happiness, at love?
In this sequel to the acclaimed novel Silver Phoenix, four lives are woven together and four destinies become one, now and forever.

Aniket: Many congrats to you first of all…. for taking your work to this level and letting everyone to come and write. You have worked hard here, so have all the writers and it’s evident. In all fairness, I do regret for not writing, or as a matter of fact, not being able to write anything here. But it’s great to see new people coming and writing. Well done Sir Ji. :D

Many congratulations to both the winners, BandE and Margaret. It was a treat reading your works. You know your hobbies well Margaret; Photography and Writing… I’m one amongst many to have witnessed your works in both the fields. ‘Crocuses’ and ‘Banished’ are the latest 1′s. It feels great. Keep it up. Thumbs up for you. :D

Thank you Nishant for stopping by and for your kind words. Well, I manage the place and even I’ve lost out on a couple of prompts! So I don’t blame you one bit.

Sometime life just catches up to you. Plus, writing should always be something you want to do and not something you have to.
I hope this place is still around when you want to write something. We’ll be thrilled to have you here.
