Aditi at the Beach

Aditi at the Beach

Written by:

Aditi suddenly sat up in her beach chair. The guy wearing sunglasses two beach  towels away  was bugging her with his staring. He had been sitting with his back to the woman he was with for the last 25 minutes and was definitely undressing Aditi  with his eyes. Or so she thought. Perhaps if she hadn’t been so pissed off with men after leaving Ketani again, she would never have entertained such musings.

Impulsively, she propelled herself out of the  seat and stomped over the hot sand.  Standing in front of him, she bent over, pulled up her bikini top and  shook her breasts in his face. “Get a good look, creep! Pretty nice, huh?”

He simply continued to smile and not otherwise respond, while the woman with him gasped, jumped up, and followed Aditi as she marched back to her chair and flopped down. She adjusted her top and smugly looked up as the woman began to speak.

“My husband lost his sight and hearing at an early age. He has never seen my face nor heard our children’s voices.  I thank the gods that he wasn’t able to see those dreadful banana breasts of yours  dangling in his face!” She began to walk away saying, “Oh, by the way, have a nice day.”

I would say that the “flasher lady” was a bit brash, but who am I to judge. Maybe she just had a bad day after her breakup and just had to blame “all” men for her sorrows. Nice job of writing, though …

Hi Jackie-Thanks for your comments. Aditi is a brash one. I think that she may have been channeling some FiFiJo, a character that I really enjoy.

  • Walter McCoy

    I lol’d. Very nice work.

Thanks Walter, I hoped that Aditi would be entertaining reading. She’s an impulsive one.

Nice! First funny flash fiction I’ve read in ages. Great job.

Sarah-Thanks for the kind words. Glad you laughed.

Hey, where was this beach? I normally stare like a creep and nothing nearly this interesting ever happens! ;)
You always give these prompts a good fight, Bruce. (Every time I write your name, feels like I’m writing to Batman. Makes. Me. Happy :D )

As I sit in my Pennsylvania bat cave, I always look forward to the two monthly prompts that you feature. Helps me to retain the remaining shreds of my sanity. Many thanks, Aniket.
